Is there a way to group references. For example:
1. (a) Heller, A.; Feldman, B., Electrochemistry in Diabetes Management. Acc. Chem. Res. 2010, 43 (7), 963-973; (b) Hoss, U.; Jeddi, I.; Schulz, M.; Budiman, E.; Bhogal, C.; McGarraugh, G., Continuous Glucose Monitoring in Subcutaneous Tissue Using Factory-Calibrated Sensors: A Pilot Study. Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics 2010, 12 (8), 591-597.

Funcionnality I ignore or possible idea of improvement
I can see that :
i) some .pdf are duplicated and wildly stored in a same default folder;
ii) the default folder can be changed but when I try it make me crazy because I do not understand very well how it works and it mess up all my organization;
iii) I can organize on my computer folders and files
iv) I can organize on Mandeley folders and files
My question :
Is it possible to define a main default folder of my computer from which the tree of all the subfolders/files could be read from Mendeley, importing so in Mendeley new folders and files as tree computer and the inverse function by which I could add folders, edit they names, etc.. in Mendeley while the modifications could be automatically written on my computer (i.e., new folder create, names of folder changed, ect..)
Sorry, I do not know if I am clear..

Formatting Word Document with Manual References with Mendeley
Hi.
I have just received an MS-Word document draft from a collaborator with the references inputted manually, i.e. adding numbers manually to the text and then copying the reference manually to the bottom.
I don't wish to carry out editing references manually and was wondering what the quickest option to make them automatic with Mendeley would be. Is there a way to:
1. Tell Mendeley to replace all, e.g. [1] occurrences with a given reference.
2. Save the bibliography text to another file and import it into Mendeley (without having to manually alter the format of the text to make it similar to a .bib file or equivalent).
I can of course do the above manually, but that would be extremely time consuming for so many references.
Many thanks in advance for your help. Best wishes,
Marta

problem downloading the PDFs
Hello,
We are currently using a premium team plan. In my Mendeley desktop client I am able to see the papers from my team but the PDFs are not downloaded automatically. They are downloaded only when I click on a particular paper. There are few thousand papers in my group so its not possible to download them one by one. From the support pages I found that by default all the PDF should download automatically. So why its not happening. I tried reinstalling Mendeley client and I also reset the client. so it didn't solve the problem.
Kind regards,
Kalyan

how do I maintain numbered citations when I make a Table a separate Word file from the main content?
I'm writing a review which requires citations as numbers (e.g. [1-3]). I want to take the tables out of the main content whilst maintaining the same numbering scheme. How can I do this?

APA Citations
Hi,
The same reference (Scheepers, D., Branscombe, N. R., Spears, R. & Doosje, B. (2002). The emergence and effects of deviants in low and high status groups. Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, 38, 611-617) appears in two different versions when I insert it. Sometimes it will write all four names, while other times it will write the first author and then et al. And this is in the same document, just lines appart and always with APA norms.
Do you know what's going on?
Do you think it might be because these two other similar references
(1-Doosje, B., Spears, R. & Ellemers, N. (2002). Social identity as both cause and effect:The development of group identification in response to anticipated and actual changes in the intergroup status hierarchy. British Journal of Social Psychology,41, 57-76.
2-Scheepers, D. (2009). Turning social identity threat into challenge: Status stability and cardiovascular reactivity during inter-group competition. Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, 45, 228–233.)?
It doesn't make sense to me because as you can see the first author it is not the same in the reference that has the same date and the last reference doesn't have the same authors or date...
Kind regards

mendeley text recognition-- what's it called?
I have another set of questions to ask after this one, but when I look at the support site I want to make sure I'm using the right terms.
What do you call the process when Mendeley recognizes the citation text after you import files? "text recognition" good enough?

Can't save modifications after modifying APA style
I wanted to modify APA or any citation style, but whiner I do and I want to save, I get an error. I've learnt through this forum to make "et al" in italics in the inline citation. So I did that by adding a node within names for "et al" and making it in italics. However, when I tried to saved I got the error.
I need the following:
1) Having the surname of the first author only, in capital letters in bibliography.
2) Having et al. in italics in inline citation
3) Having et al. appear when there are more than 2 authors.
4) Having the year without brackets in bibliography
5) Having the title between quotes in bibliography
6) having a "comma" after the author and before the year in the inline citation. Ex: (Smith, 2014)
7) Having the name of the journal or magazine in italics in bibliography.
8) Being able to save this!!
thank you soooo much to whoever helps!

reference order
I am writing a paper with tables that have their own references. The journal (AMA format) requires that the references in the table are numbered in sequence with the ones in the main text, starting from the highest numbered reference just before the table is first mentioned in the text. The table is at the bottom of the document after the references. I tried to put double references (one set where the table is mentioned in the main text, one set within the table) and then I erased the ones in the main text. It worked initially, but then after inserting new references, the reference order was reset and the table references became the highest numbered, as they appear at the bottom of the document. Any thought?

Only PDFs?
Hi. I have just set up the Mendeley Desktop but am wondering if I can only import PDFs. I often need to include educational resources and websites in assignments. Can I use Mendeley to import/add those references as well or will I have to add those citations and references manually to the text and bibliography?
Thanks.

Anonymize author for blind peer-review
Hi
Ever so often, as a researcher we are supposed to send in our manuscripts where citations/references to the authors (used in the text) have to be anonmuzed (for double blind peer-review). I.e. the reference in the text and bibliography would be (Author, 2012) etc.
Now, is there a function to automatically create this references (i.e. that Mendelay recognizes that I am the author and, if I choose to, lets me anonymize my references where I am the author)?
If not - this would be great feature in the software.

bibliography per section
I noticed the question I have has been posted in 2012 so I copy it:
"Is there a way to include multiple independent bibliographies in word? i.e. In a multi-chapter document, citations from chapter one should ONLY show up in the bibliography for chapter 1 and citations from chapter 2 should only show in chapter 2 bibliography. As it is now, it appears that you can only have a single bibliography for each document. If this feature is not available then this program is useless for writing books, theses, and dissertations."

Author names inverted when imported
We have been importing citations from SafetyLit (www.safetylit.org) for a few years and have encountered only the occasional problem. Recently, author names have been inverted in the author field. When we copy as formatted citation, the author field appears as a string of initials. How do we get them to display accurately?

Should different types of sources be split by type in the list of references?
Hello!
Where can I find detailed instructions and examples about that? And how to apply Mendeley in this context?
It seems strange for me that academic literature and youtube videos are in the same list. Besides that, there are no names of authors for youtube videos and for webpages. For example, if I want to cite this page - http://www.poolparty.biz/portfolioportfolio-4-columns/products/
Thank you!

Referencing Style
Is it possible to use endnotes now? Meaning small numbers in text, with references at the end? This is a requirement from the Sage Journal; China Information. I have now transferred a colleagues EndNote library to Mendeley as I was bragging about how great it is. Feels pretty silly if I cannot get her to use it now. Please please tell me that you have a simple way of solving this!
