I am in a big trouble because it seems that since my last use of Mendeley, a kind of shift on the database happened.
Informations entered in the EDITION section was cut. When I try to correct if (firts thinkinf it was a mistake from me), I've notice that this field is for NAME and the EDITORS one for orgnaisation… like a shift…
Well… I dont really understand but I am in bug trouble… please help me :)

unwanted citation appears when I use the refresh button in the MS Word Plugin
unwanted citation appears when I use the refresh button in the MS Word Plugin
it is always the same citation.
When i click on it, it is not highlighted in grey like the true ones.
Each time i use the refresh button , one more appears.
Can I make mendeley citation tags visible ?

Several issues with repeated citations of the same source
Hi!
I am using Mendeley for my PhD thesis and I have several issues when I cite the same source (or different sources of the same author) several times. I hope that you can make suggestions how to solve those issues or find work-arounds. I am using the Bluebook Law Review citation style.
1. Internal cross-references do not include location of complete citation:
When I cite the same source for the second, third etc. time (or more), the automatically generated citation does not include the location of the first (complete) citation of the source. For example:
Fn. 20: Paul Smith, [Publication Name] [page] (1970).
Fn. 25: Smith, supra note at [page].
Am I doing something wrong or why doesn't Mendeley insert the location of the first, complete citation? It should be saying:
Fn. 25: Smith, supra note 20 at [page].
The problem is not only that I have to insert all of the cross-references manually, but that this gets REALLY messy when I use several publications of the same author, since the short form citation (example in Fn. 25 above) does not identify the source, except for the year (when I click "edit citation"). Thus, when I use several publications of the same author published in the same year, it is literally impossible to figure out which source the footnote references and to add the cross-reference manually.
2. Repeated citation of the same author after a manually entered footnote:
When I cite a specific source in one footnote, then add a manual citation in the subsequent footnote (which I have a lot of, since my thesis is in law, and the citation format for arbitration tribunal decisions does not exist in Mendeley), then reference the first source again in the third footnote, Mendeley ignores my manual footnote and cites "Id., at [page]". How can I ensure that my manual footnotes are not ignored?
Example:
Fn. 20: Paul Smith, [Publication Name] [page] (1970).
Fn. 21: Arbitration No. [XX/XXXX]
Fn. 22: Id. at page.
3. Repeated citation of the same author, but different publications:
When I cite different publications of the same author repeatedly, the sources are not distinguishable after the first citation. Even if I enter manual cross-references to the introductory footnotes in all subsequent footnotes, the publications cannot be distinguished if they are introduced in the same footnote. I really see a need for a short citation format, here - is this possible in Mendeley or not? It would be super helpful if at least a manually entered/edited short-form citation in the second reference a specific publication was automatically reproduced in all subsequent footnotes.

Adding URL to webpage citation and date cited format
Hi there
I'm using my own modified citation style in Visual CSL Editor and somehow I've managed to delete the ability for the URL to be displayed in a webpage bibliography citation. How would I add this field back in? I don't think I deleted the node but I've tried to create a new node anyway but I don't see how to add the display of the URL back in.
Also, I require the date cited for the webpage citation to be DD Month YYYY but the drop down menu has only three options, none of which are in the format I require. Is there some way to add a custom date format?

"A." initial often not capitalized in author names
Often I find that when papers are imported (or maybe their metadata is filled in from the database), an "A." initial in an author name comes out as "a.". Example here: http://i.imgur.com/TwHE4lh.png. Doesn't seem to happen with any other letters. Is this normal behavior? Any way around it?

I am looking to create a bibliography in alphabetical order (not in order as seen in the text). I want to use the National Library of Medicine style but the bibliography comes out in order of text ? How do i change this to alphabetical order ?

Is there any way to get around the MS Word word count bug?
In a document, when using the Mendeley cite-o-matic plugin, the word count shown is much higher than the true word count. I have seen many comments on this bug before. Is there an update to the plugin to patch this issue in an otherwise brilliant platform, or is there any way to get around the bug?

Back up and restoring library and notes
Hi,
firstly, let me say how much I love Mendeley because of its desktop tool, and I have used it many years now.
Secondly, let me raise two questions:
1) I prefer multiple backups, just in case... Is there an alternative for me to I back up my Mendeley Library including notes elsewhere than the Web, like on a hard drive or a second computer, without messing up?
2) In case of catastrophe, assume my computer is dead due to whatever reasons, I have to get a new computer, and I want to restore my Mendeley Library including the notes. How do I do this? Do I just install the Mendeley Desktop on my new computer and restore from Mendeley Web?
Looking forward to your answers and carrying on with work on my thesis...

I receive an error (a maximum of 16 undo records can be active simultaneously. (6274)) and now it became impossible for me to edit or insert new citations using the Mendeley Word Plugin.

First day I downloaded Mendeley, I could use it well. But then, the second day, an error window appears when I try to insert a citation. It says:

Dear Mendeley
I am a new user.
When I download the MS Word plug in, it tells me that the download was succesfull.
However, when I try to insert citation in word, I get the following message:
'Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment (450)in Mendeley Plugin'.

I'm currently using my own modified Vancouver style and I wondered how to change the date cited format for a URL? Currently the only options via the dropdown seem to be year-month-day, year-month and year...I require DD-Month-YYYY.

Hi,
is there a way to display articles containing either of the two selected custom tags? (in Mendeley desktop)
When I select couple tags, let's say tag1 and tag2, I can see only articles containing tag1 AND tag2. How do I display articles containing tag1 OR tag2?

How to add a citation to existing string of citations
Hello,
Using 'Cite while you write' how can I add a new citations to an existing string of citations so that it automatically blends in? For example if I want to add a new citation to "(Lu et al. 2010; Zuo et al. 2011) " I can not find a way to do that apart from adding it at the end which looks like this "(Lu et al. 2010; Zuo et al. 2011) (Newmaster et al. 2013)" instead of "(Newmaster et al. 2013; Lu et al. 2010; Zuo et al. 2011)"? If I want it the latter way then I would have to delete the existing string, highlight all the citations I want and insert them anew. Surely there must be an easy way to do that ....

How do I know that Mendeley is getting/asking for all the information needed to meet the requirements of the selected citation style? Will it alert me or put it in the needs review category when I make a bibliography in my word document or when I add a pdf to my library?

watch folder not working after update to v1.14
I have just updated to version 1.14 and the watch folder function has stopped working. I have tried switching the function off and then on again, but this did not help. Please advise.
My watched folder is on my desktop and I am using windows 7. I am using the options/watched folders menu to switch my folders on and off.
