is there a way mendeley could reference an author used by another author in his journal other than just referencing the owner(author)of a journal? for instance if the original author for a journal is Mark (2015) and he references a statement from John (2012): is it not possible for mendeley to display john's name when i want to reference him in my work? i have tried it severally but it seems mendeley only recognizes the owner (author) of the journal or article instead and not the individual references he used. i get this problem when i want to do in-text citation in my work, but instead mendeley gives me the journal author's name from whom i am taking the statement from and not the original author of that particular statement. i hope you understand my question.
