I'm just starting to write up a PhD thesis that will have lots of pictures and graphs. Word can have problems with very large file sizes, with cross-references corrupting, etc. etc. The solution is to use a Master document and create each chapter as a sub-document.
I noted a question on this a year ago, with the response that Mendeley wasn't tested on Master-document/sub-document files and thus unsupported, but that a work request would go it to see if this could be done.documents.
Is Mendeley now supported when using a Word Master Document and sub-documents for each chapter?
