Dear Mendeley Team,
Up front: Thanks for this great tool!
However, one unsolved issue in my eyes is this:
As already this Post suggested
http://support.mendeley.com/customer/portal/questions/522225-another-citation-style-question
the whole Mendeley citation Management is of little use, if you cannot manage the exportation style of the variable citation-label once you have to use any citation style that uses specific abbreviations of the author name.
My case is just as the one in the [first three letters of 1st author & date] like [Men14].
What Mendeley does, is a variable export called "citation-label" which uses four letters and also reflects the second author by providing something like [MeZo14].
Ideally, you could provide a way to change what exactly is exported to the CSL engine in the variable citation-label. Unfortunately, any CSL editing does not help, because the variable is already concatenated in Mendeley and not in the CSL style.
Is there any idea, where I could change the citation-label composition?
It would be very helpful for the German community as many citation styles around here do use author abbreviation like this or similar.
Best regards,
Benedikt
