About once a week my library somehow resets to have many more duplicates than actually exist. There aren't any duplicates on my harddrive that can find. Order of events that I believe are contributing to my problem:
- I use Mendeley normally
- I turned on the online webspace / library syncing. I had no problems at this point
- I reformatted my computer and used an external harddrive to save my documents and restore them to my reformatted drive.
- I then re-synced to my Mendeley account
- Now every few times I load up Mendeley it will take a very long time to complete tasks at startup, and if I search for duplicates it will list a very large portion (or my entire?) library
- I will "confirm merge" of them. Now if I restart Mendeley immediately it won't refind any duplicates, but the problem reoccurs in a few days.
- This occurs without me changing or updating any of the files
Other information:
- Mendeley watches folders "Papers" and "Papers\Organized"
- I set up an auto-organize from "Papers" to "Papers\Organized" for my renaming of files
- Papers is within a Dropbox folder
I hope this is descriptive enough. I couldn't find any fixes in other threads. The only one I saw was "http://support.mendeley.com/customer/portal/questions/800400-mendeley-creates-duplicates-with-watched-folders-refresh" which was close to mine.
Thanks!
