MS Word and Visual Basic for Applications support

Hi, I know this has come up multiple times, but I've tried pretty much everything discussed and none has worked. I'm using a Mac Air with OS X Yosemite 10.10.4, and the Mendeley is v1.14. I've just installed Microsoft Word for Mac 2016 using university MS 365, and when I attempted to install MS Word plugin from Mendeley desktop, I got the following message: "Your copy of Microsoft Word does not appear to have Visual Basic for Applications support installed. If the plugin does not work properly, please try re-installing Office and ensure that 'Visual Basic for Applications' support is selected." When I attempted to open MS Word, I got a message saying "Invalid procedure call or argument (5) in MendeleyPlugin". I've tried to reinstall the MS suite several times, and the problem remains. Also, the MS installer I downloaded from MS 365 does not allow me to customize the installation, so there is no way I can select/install the Visual Basic for Applications from there. Any help would be appreciated! thanks
