In-line citations within word (mac)

Hi, I would like to have citations where they are part of the sentence. For example. Smith et al. (2000) showed that blaa blaa. I know how to link the reference to the Mendeley library with following format. It was shown that blaa blaa (Smith et al., 2000). Thanks Peter
