I'm renewing the question previously asked (in the question below) about a conference paper document type. In my field, conferences don't typically produce published, edited conference proceedings; rather, one simply has the unpublished conference papers -- and I need to properly cite conference papers, not proceedings. In the Chicago Manual of Style, these two types of documents are clearly distinguished from one another. So, having a conference paper document type seems like an obvious improvement for Mendeley to implement. And no, mucking around with the CSL is not the solution when adding this document type would likely benefit many users.
