Mendeley claim NOT to support enterprise class Linux distributions based on Red Hat 6/7. How they get away with claiming to be a support tool for University based research projects and ignore enterprise class Linux distributions, is somewhat surprising. Universities actively promote distributions like Scientific Linux (Fermilab, CERN, DESY and ETHZ) as they are secure, stable and have a long support period. The new version of Mendeley will not install due to using bleeding edge glibc libraries.
