Italics in title name

As a biologist, I have many references with italics in the title name, for the Latin names of organisms (for example, Apis mellifera instead of "honey bee"). Is there a way to add italics to the title name? It is a pain to have to reformat the citation every time the references are refreshed in a manuscript draft. Thanks, Evan
