Customizing CSL to include link to article

Hi, I'm trying to customize a CSL file in kind of a complicated way - I would like to make the entire bibliographic item a URL, if the DOI variable or URL variable are populated without outputting the text of the DOI or URL. This is so that in a PDF, I could simply click on the bibliographic item and it will lead me to the webpage where it came from. I'm using pandoc to actually parse the file (markdown) and generate the citations, so not directly from Mendeley, but I use Mendeley to generate the source bib file. I'm not sure that this is the right place to ask, but since on the CSL website they direct to Mendeley, Zotero or Papers website to ask for help customizing the CSL file I thought I'd try here first.
