Menedeley plugin for word

for some reason, my word plugin has stopped working and when I try to insert a citation I get a message saying ActiveX component can't create object (429) in Mendeley Plugin, I have tried un-installing and re-installing the plugin as well as un-stalling and re-installing Mendeley on my laptop but nothing has changed I use MS Office 2016 and latest mendely version. thanks in advance for your help
