It is TERRIBLE. Nonsense. I gave up long ago, I use PubMed for search, and go then to Mendeley with full list of authors, full title, journal, date etc. BUT: even if (obviously) ony one reference meets these criteria, Mendeley gives me a 100+ list, and the proper reference is not included (well, at least in 50% of cases); shortening, manipulating search in different ways adds maybe additional 15%; finally at least in 35% of cases I have to type it manually. Moreover, recent references (the most important ones) are never included, Mendeley is approx. 3-5 months behind PubMed.
This makes the whole system EXTREMELY handicapped. Why can PubMed find any reference by typing the first two-three author's name in - why is Mendeley unable to do that, why do you list me one single reference 5+ times among the first 20 you find (incorrectly).
Your search program is a JOKE, an absurd fiasco of the 21th century's computer era.
Focus on it, improve it, or try to do something different (maybe gardening or distributing pamphlets to post boxes).
