Hello. I keep having problems with Mendeley because I can't find the option to 'hide author'. For example if I want to write: "The water consumption in Country X has increased four-fold in the last 20 years (Jones and Johnson, 2011)", then all is fine. However, if I want to write "Jones and Johnson (2011) found that the water consumption in Country X has increased four-fold in the last 20 years." then I can't find a way to enter the citation. I've just consulted somebody at the university library who has shown me the 'hide author' function in RefWorks but they don't support other referencing software. I've searched for something similar in Mendeley but can't find anything. Also, that style is not automatically added to the end reference list so I have to remember to add it manually. That’s initially not too much of an issue but when there are any edits to the text which includes removal or edition of another citation, the reference list updates itself and deletes the manual entries. This has caused me to lose marks in Master’s assignments and the problem is occurring again now I’m doing my literature reviews for PhD. Is there a way that this can be overcome by changing the settings so I don't have to switch referencing software? Kind regards. Jennifer
