Syncing on desktop app is stuck on downloading a document and web app is unable to load documents.

I recently used the plug-in for Chrome to add a reference and its PDF to my Mendeley account. I then went to sync on my desktop app, and although it downloaded the reference information it was stuck forever trying to download the PDF. I then went to web account to see if I could delete the new document so that it does not interfere with downloading more references. However, when trying to view "All Documents", it was unable to load any -- also seemingly stuck. Any help or advice would be appreciated as I am writing my PhD thesis that I need to submit... days ago. :)
