I suggest that Mendeley be revised to allow users to input author names such that the last name can begin with a lowercase letter.
For most authors, this isn't an issue. However, for authors with names like dePaul or lePage and the like (i.e., where the surname begins with a lowercase letter), Mendeley automatically capitalizes the first letter of the last name, and there is no way (at least that I'm aware of) to make it so that the first letter an author last name can be lowercase.
Mendeley does allow for lowercase letters if there is a separate element to the last name (e.g., von Trapp), but not if the last name is all one unit (e.g., deJong).
Thanks for your consideration.
